Bank Negara Malaysia’s international reserves stood at US$126.6 billion as at March 31.
The central bank said the reserves are sufficient to finance 4.6 months of imports of goods and services and are 0.9 times total short-term external debt.
Of the total, US$110.8 billion comprised foreign currency reserves, while gold reserves stood at US$6.4 billion.
Special drawing rights totalled US$5.9 billion, the IMF reserve position amounted to US$1.3 billion, and other reserve assets stood at US$2.2 billion.
